AAP Motorcycle Plus Member Gets Quick Settlement of Accident Insurance Claim

Last June 20, AAP Motorcycle Plus member Ronald Balleta lost control of his motorbike and fell on Samson Road in Caloocan City due to gravel haphazardly scattered on the road.  Fortunately, no one else was injured and no property was damaged.

What could have been a hassle for the 20-year-old rider who registered as an AAP member only last March became a reassuring experience when AAP’s Insurance Department quickly settled his hospital fees at St. Luke’s Medical Center.

As an AAP Motorcycle Member, Balleta is covered by personal accident insurance including accidental death and disablement costs.  Insurance coverage also paid for his confirmatory medical tests and the prescription medicine he purchased was completely reimbursed within two weeks..

Launched in February 2019, AAP’s Motorcycle Membership Plus, dedicated exclusively to serving motorcycle riders, is the national auto club’s newest membership category.

Motorcyclists need insurance protection. According to the 2018 analysis report of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), motorbike users top the list of victims in road crashes with a 12.95% occurrence among the ten vehicle categories.

MMDA recorded 13,594 non-fatal injuries and 224 fatalities involving motorcycles, dwarfing the car accident statistics of 8,121 non-fatal incidents and 95 fatalities. In the Caloocan area alone, a total of 1,517 or four road crashes daily happened throughout 2018.

AAP Motorcycle Plus Membership offers varying packages tailored to a motorcyclist’s needs. For as low as PHP 600, a member gets additional benefits such as LTO registration renewal assistance, a free Caltex SavePlus card for fuel discounts, and exclusive slashed rates from AAP partner establishments.

The future is never certain, but insurance coverage with AAP is. Contact AAP’s Insurance Department at 705-3333 to know how you can start your worry-free riding today.
